the 2018 pageant season of miss earth will be a very busy one with lots of ecotourism tours scheduled in different destinations in the philippines. the ladies will have a taste of what filipino culture really is , how stunning the philippine nature can be and will experience true filipino hospitality and happiness. miss earth is unbeatable in terms of providing the best, most memorable, most impacting pageant experience there is today. no other pageant can replicate the miss earth experience , the ladies feel like true superstars everywhere they go and they are actually making actual work that produces tangible impact on the communities they visit.

for the first time in miss earth history there will be a top 18 for the semifinals to signify the 18th anniversary of the miss earth pageant. there will still be a meeting to decide which selection will be adopted in selecting the top 18. will it be full continental where assigned slots are given to each continent and the top scoring girls from that continent makes the top 18. the other system being looked at is the semicontinental where the top 10 highest scorers irregardless of continent make the semifinals and the rest of the 8 spots will be continental.personally i prefer the semicontinental system as it is the fairest and most reasonable of the two. it gives everyone an equal chance of placing despite the continent and does not limit the strong girls from placing due to limited slots per continent, yet at the same time it provides diversity with the last 8 continental slots.so earthlings voice your  opinion about this, pure continental? or semicontinental? which one is the best system for top 18 selection?

the miss earth 2018 finals night will be something to look forward to, as the materials to be used onstage will be 80percent recycled proving that miss earth really lives through its words of reducing waste to protect our environment.

there will be glamshots this year and the photographer will be gelbert aplal. there is a concept being discussed that has never been done in pageantry ever and will definitely be a miss earth original an innovation.if this will be approved , it will be a breakthrough and will be the talk of the town for a very long time and something other pageants will surely follow once this concept is done by miss earth.photoshoot will happen on october 10th, im so excited !!!

the figure and form preliminary competition will be held towards the end of the pageant, this will test which delegate has the discipline to maintain her figure throughout the pageant. miss earth is known for spoiling the girls,everywhere they go the sponsors offer them a feast of delicious food , a lot of girls gain weight at the end of the pageant. so having the figure and form preliminary judging towards the end will be a test of discipline and commitment. the girls will be wearing hat and sunglasses during the judging process so that the judges can focus on her figure and form alone and not be swayed by a beautiful face.

one girl i am so happy to see competing this year is miss earth serbia nina jovanovic, it was her dream to compete at miss earth. unfortunately budgetary matters prevented her from joining. she was heartbroken but promised to herself to work hard so she can compete in 2019, but a miss earth hero rescued the situation and her dream of competing in miss earth became a reality.

some few tidbits bulgaria will come back officially in 2019 , a new franchise holder wanted to catch up and send a last minute candidate for slovak republic. unfortunately the 90 limit has already been reached by the time they communicated with carousel. the last time i spoke to carousel they were still thinking if they will accept the candidate who by the way was a very beautiful one too. but if not this year for sure 2019 slovak republic will be back, it will be a winner of a national competition unlike the ones sent by the previous franchise holder. the franchise holder was helped by a previous miss earth slovak republic to connect to miss earth.

miss dominican republic gabriela franceschini will depart from her country october 9th and will arrive in manila october 11th.lets wish her well...

russia had a problem with her passport at the airport , so she wasnt allowed to travel. the good news is ,her national director was able to secure a new passport within a day. russia will arrive in the morning of october 11th. hope she will still be able to make it for press presentation.
