miss earth has been promoting the philippines for years now and has been advocating for sustainable tourism since the very beginning, so why will the government spend millions of dollars on another pageant that does not have the philippines interests on its agenda and did not even feature anything about philippine culture and tourism the last time they held it here. miss earth has the philippines front and center and what it has to offer from beautiful sceneries, amazing culture, prime hospitality , delicious food and most of all the genuine happy filipinos which always captures the hearts of the queens whenever they come.that is why the secretary of the department of environment and natural resources roy cimatu, with the approval of president duterte personally invited the miss earth pageant to formally relaunch boracay island to the world.
miss earth philippines winners are the only national pageant winners in the philippines who actually have a reign, they are always invited by different governmental agencies as well as private groups to grace their special events as they know that miss earth has a solid platform and are always dependable to follow through with what they advocate for, becoming role models for everone to follow.the miss earth philippines girls recently were in davao city where president rodrigo duterte personally invited them to experience the beautiful islands, exotic flora and fauna ,unique culture,sumptuous delicacies, stunning nature and of course do environmental school tours in his hometown. the president personally arranged for the itinerary of the miss earth team and he was there to meet them as well. davao might also be one of the possible places the miss earth 2018 candidates will be visiting during the whole month they will be here from october to november.
the ladies were toured all over davao and the surrounding islands where they the best times and even experienced making their signature chocolates from the chocolate museum.
while the reigning miss earth philippines 2018ladies had their own itinerary, the reigning miss earth 2017 winner karen ibasco had her own schedule as well. the miss earth organization is the most trusted pageant in the philippines when it comes to promoting culture as well as advancing a campaign. karen ibasco was a speaker and special guest at the bataan environmental summit, she also shared a powerful message at the energy development council where she was special guest and invited speaker.
karen was also invited by the open arms for children in iloilo where she participated in the 1000 trees for the future campaign. the queens are working everyday in different parts of the philippines to continue to spread the advocacy of environmental protection to make more filipinos and people of the world aware of the importance of taking care of our environment.
miss earth 2017 is a job that requires a lot of work and resistance that is why a miss earth queen has to be dedicated and strong, because when she wins lots of activities are there for her to tackle. next month karen will be busy with international trips ,august2-4 she will be in singapore, august 19-26 she will be in colombia, after the trip to colombia karen will proceed to panama with juliana franco. september 19-25 karen will travel to belgium together with miss fire lada akimova.
now let us get into some tidbits of information i know you earthlings want to hear, let us start with bolivia, the one they announced as miss earth bolivia 2018 was not accepted by carousel productions due as she is overaged. after disrespecting miss earth title, they were begging and pleading to accept the candidate,but carousel stood ground which i totally support. because even guam and portugal who have exclusive miss earth pageants for their country had to follow rules when their candidate was underage, and south africa one of the most established franchise holder for miss earth had to follow rules as well when their candidate did not reach the height requirement, the nerve of this franchise to even demand at first to accept their candidate which eventually resorted to begging and pleading when carousel did not budge to their request.so expect to have no bolivia for 2018, unless they come up with another candidate that is officially crowned as miss earth bolivia. the new franchise holder for bolivia and paraguay will start in 2019 , as the current one already completed the requirements before the new applicant spoke to carousel.after nine years of absence greece will be coming back for 2018, their plan was to join next year, but have decided to send a candidate for 2018 which is perfect as the theme fits greece to a T, goddesses.
as for the venue for the 2018 finals, tentatively it is same as the last 2 years the mall of asia arena unless they can find a suitable venue in boracay island, then the finals will be in boracay island. for sure though the whole batch of 2018 will be in boracay island for its reopening on october 26, 2018. such lucky girls, they will experience the new and improved boracay island, if things push through they might do their introductions in the island with the beauty of boracay in the background highlighting why it is named best beach in the world for many years now.
