there is no other beauty pageant like miss earth,every other pageant is a copy of each other. miss earth stands out as the only environmental based pageant in which the candidates do actual work and immerse themselves into the community and interact with local people as well as the local government. they do tangibale things and affect the communities they visit. the air goddesses were very fortunete to visit legazpi albay , and they were in for a big treat as the organizers went full steam ahead , and made the girls feel a pageant experience they will never forget in their lifetime.

the ladies experienced the best of albay, they planted trees, drove unmotorized tricycles, cooked bicolano dishes, toured small towns, interacted with the common people and dazzled during their competitions. this is the richest prepageant competition with thousands of dollars in prizes. truly an experience like no other, nothing can compare and no other pageant can ever surpass what miss earth offers in terms of experiences and unforgetabble moments.

the water goddesses travelled to pontefino hotel in batangas for their swimsuit competition. mexico won gold, vietnam silver, bosnia and herzegovina won bronze. puerto rico and brazil won special awards from pontefino hotels. after the competition the gilrs savored the beauty of pontefino hotel and estates. they also planted trees all over the estate and did promotional filming for the hotel.

now for the tidbits, majority of the judges are flying in , so expect the judges to be mostly foreign personalities mixed with miss earth sponsors.there is still no word as to what the final decision on which system will be used this year in selecting top 16, it will be known after the intelligence round and the results are tabulated.miss earth wants a diverse top 16 because environmental problems and solutions are global issues so each continent needs to be represented.i am still hoping the semicontinental is used this year as it is the fairest , most sensible and logical system while it also covers diversity.

the format for finals night will be like this, the top 16 for each category will be called one by one, they will be in their goddess costumes. after that the top 18 candidates will be called , they will be wearing evening gowns, and when they are called they will strut and they will be scored based on beauty of face and poise.the 18 ladies will perform in their swimsuits and will be trimmed down to 12 , once they are called they will be scored one by one based on figure and form.

after the figure and form category the 12 ladies will be back onstage wearing swimsuits and official gold shoes from miss earth with wraps and cover up this time. the top 8 will then be called one by one and answer the earth talk portion of the pageant.

the top 8 ladies will come back to the stage wearing evening gowns and they will be whittled down to the 4 queens who will form the miss earth 2018 goddesses elemental court. final question will then be asked , same question for all four girls and the other three will wear headphones while the first one answers. the judges will then rank and a new queen will be proclaimed the ultimate goddess of 2018.

there will be a national directors night on october 31st at the carousel mansions. there will be about 40 plus expected guests with the national directors and their respective teams. it will be a great night at the home of miss earth as carousel productions treats its directors and contestants as family.

one of the most unique feature and something miss earth created is the no make up prejudging. this is a breakthrough in pageantry , as traditionally beauty pageants are always associated with full production ;from hair , make up, dresses, accesories the whole works. but miss earth shattered that tradition by uncovering the beauty of the girls to its most bare and most natural. miss earth has always been an innovator, it always pushes the limit and dares to be different and legendary. that is why it is called the most relevant pageant, always copied, always imitated by minor pageants even the older pageants have picked up some of its concepts and copied a lot of its ideas.

here are my top 18 choices for beauty of face and poise, i scored them separately and then totalled the 2 scores and then averaged.there were lots of scores tied , so i had to choose between which girl to include in the top 18.

something that is always unique with miss earth is the fact that during the pageant the girls travel all over the philippines visiting the different islands and provinces. spreading the message of environmental protection as well as showcasing the beautiful eco tourism sites of these destinations. the philippines is blessed with the most beautiful nature that are mostly undiscovered by  most tourists. these ecotourism tours by the miss earth candidates will give these places a chance to show to the world what they can offer and that they deserve a share in the burgeoning tourism pie of the philippines.misses cyprus, ukraine ,paraguay,egypt ,tonga and cambodia had the privilege of visiting the island of romblon, the marble capital of the philippines. romplon has some of the most ebautiful islands that you can see only in your dreams and a lot of them are uninhabited. 

the ladies experienced the best of romblon as they were taken to the famous bonbon beach with crystal clear blue waters and fine white sand. they did a school tour where they were treated like royalty and like true rockstars with hundreds of screaming schoolchildren wanting to get a glimpse of the queens.they visited several ecotourism sites and even ziplined from one island to another, experiences no other pageant offers. experiences that are priceless,timeless and no amount of hd photos can capture. because what miss earth offers are experiences that remain in the hearts of the candidates , that during the pageant they felt they have made a difference, felt that they inspired children and most of all experience real culture , real community, real happiness an the unique hospitality only filipinos can truly tender into each visitor.

next on the list is the organic city of bislig in surigao del sur which advocates for organic farming to promote well being as well as provide jobs to the local people. mindanao has long been shunned by most tourists due to bad press, but little does everyone knows it has some of the most virgin beaches, virgin islands, virgin forests and natural wonders that would take your breath away. one of this is the pride of bislig, the stunning TINUY-AN falls.the ladies gushed in delight upon seeing mother natures wonderful creation. an eco tour would not be complete without the ladies treated like esteemed guests, with schoolchildren lining up the streets waving their flags , much like a president  of a country on an official visit. the miss earth queens really do feel loved, admired, thats why even if its hardwork it fuels them to go on because the love and respect they receive in their provincial tours is nothing short of spectacular. misses mexico, new zealand,malta,liberia,serbia and guyana were the lucky ones to visit this fantastic place in mindanao.

now for some tidbits of information, g force will be the official choreographer for the finals night , so expect some steamy hot opening as well as exciting segments.

 the criteria for judging will be 60% beauty of face, fitness and poise , 40% intelligence ,environmental knowledge and attitude for the 16 semifinalists, the 17th spot will be the best eco video which will be decided by a special panel of judges. the 18th spot will be the eco -media award where it will be a combination of peoples choice via facebook and instagram with the glam shots being the photo to be voted on. the eco warrior award will be decided by another set of special judges where they will evaluate the candidates work before and during the pageant in promoting the environmental message of miss earth accross all social media.i am very happy that this was the final decision, initially the eco warrior and peoples choice via the glaamshots was supposed to be the two spots.after suggestions, meeting and consultations it was finally decided to recognize the efforts done by the candidate and her organization to come up with amazing eco videos which really is a powerful medium to convey the message of beauties for a cause to everyone. carousel has listened to all the fans suggestions, the only one that really needs to be done is choose a globally acceptable goddess to win. i hope the judges this year  will have the foresight  for the goddess of beauty VENUS to prevail and become the ultimate earth goddess of 2018. goddess of knowledge athena please take a rest for 2018 , we have had enough of your antics and tactics, it wasnt as good as the judges thought it was.......
