after more than three weeks of exciting activities that took them to more than 10 exciting tourism destinations spreading environmental protection, touching the lives of the community , inspiring people , experiencing stunning pardise tourism sites and local culture it culminated into one dizzying heart stopping coronation night.
many people have wondered how the top 16 were chosen this year, well it has been the tradition in miss earth to select the top 16 via continental judging awarding certain slots to every continent based on the number of contestants per continent. the more contestants that continent has the more slots awarded. well i have a surprise for you, for the first time in 10 years carousel productions have revised the process. instead of purely doing continental judging, the top 8 scorers irregardless of continents were first chosen. once the top 8 has been identified , the rest of the girls competed for continental slots.this was revised due to years of complaints from fans that continental judging is unfair and puts very strong region at a disadvantage with few slots and so many strong girls. and putting a weak continent more slots due to numbers , causing so much uproar from fans why a weak girl made it over the strong girl. well carousel productions has listened and went into a meeting and devised this process which i think is the fairest one ,and voila we have the best top 16 in years. no surprises , not much complaining as the top 16 deserved it and were all very competitive.
now for some juice, did you know who topped the preliminaries? russia was number 1 , she was followed by colombia. the biggest shocker is if the old process of judging was followed that was purely continental, ecuador would have clapped and not made top 16 , so we could have a different miss earth 2016 winner. so fans, earthlings be careful what you wish for, it might be granted and in the end not be pleased with the end result.that was why there were 6 girls from the americas making everyone confused since americas had lesser candidates compared to europe and asia/pacific, this right here is the reason why.five ladies from the americas made the top 8 testament to how strong this continent really is, ecuador placed 5th in the americas and if the old continental judging was used 4 slots were to be assigned for the americas and ecuador would have clapped since she was 5th in the americas.there you go everyone, this you will never hear from anywhere.it was really the fate of ecuador to win, now im banging my head, i was one of those who strongly opposed the continental judging and strongly rallied against it.as they say, its her fate, her destiny....
she dreamt, she failed the first two times, she cried, she felt down,picked herself up and stood up again to realize that long time dream of becoming our mother nature's ambassadress and be crowned miss earth. third time's a charm when finally she won the england national finals for her to finally get a chance to realize that dream. in a few hours after so many years of hardwork,sleepless nights,blood ,sweat and tears, we will know if the crown was meant for her head. if there is a woman so ready and so prepared to take on the job of miss earth, it is england's luissa burton. she will be a great queen, someone who will go the extra long mile to make miss earth cause be heard all over the world. her main motto is "GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK" , a very catchy one and is very appropriate for the trend crazy social media generation. before jetting off to the philippines as part of her advocacy she had a photoshoot in los angeles with famed designer deborah lindquist to showcase recycled dresses highlighting how being green and acting green is now in style and fashionable.everything in used in the photoshoot is either recycled ,reclaimed, vintage or made from susutainable sources. earth element

so the most awaited prejudging in miss earth 2016 happened on october 25th, this is the make or break moment . that moment that could realize a dream or cause big time heartbreak.a big chunk of the preliminary scores to determine who makes the prestigious miss earth top 16 is taken from the prejudging. this consists of two parts, first part is when the girls are to be assessed for their physical beauty, no make up physical assessment is what its called. as miss earth entails hardwork and dressing down a lot for their activities as a winner, miss earth wants to see how the girls look like without make -up. this is a unique concept never been done or never been thought of in pageantry until miss earth came along. the ladies are judged wearing identical swimwear and without any make up. after the no make up physical assessment comes the closed door interview, where the delegates discuss their persona as well as their environmental platform. this is also the time the judges get to ask questions to further know which girl is best suited for the crown.
so here are the juicy tidbits of what happened during the most exciting and always mysterious miss earth 2016 prejudging. no one ever knows what happens inside , this is the closest you will be to unravel the secrets of the dreaded prejudging.two ladies made a huge impact on the judges and are deemed to be the ones who will be the favorites for the crown on the 29th. first off is a lady from the americas, OMG this region is battlefield extraordinaire, as the judges were scratching their heads because this group produced some superbeauties after superbeauties and they are all itching and gunning for the crown. this is where lots of heartbreaks and tears will come from as there are limited slots and the girls were super strong each one of them. back to the two outstanding girls in the prejudging, the lady from the americas left an indelible mark on the hearts of the judges upon seeing her in the no make up round, she is truly a goddess, blessed with beauty that is unquestionable and breathtaking.she is also very humble and has excellent camaraderie with everyone ,including her fellow contestants. the other sureball lady comes from europe, this lady the moment she entered the room for the closed door interview, she mesmerized the judges with her sheer beauty, elegance, intelligence and charismatic personality. she never let go and held the judges in awe from start to finish, she will make history if she wins on the 29th.
lets move to another item,this time overconfidence might hurt the chances of another frontrunner. she has been the choice of most pageant fans to win the title but miss earth values humility and a woman who is flexible to work with. i hope she recovers and dont let the fans attention get to her head and go back to why she was here in the first place , to become an ambassdor of mother nature.
there will be major surprises in asia and oceania as two non traditional placers surprised everyone during the prejudging, they both looked gorgeous and were amazing speakers during interview. hint, they are both from moslem countries.
now for two of the most beautiful faces in europe, be prepared for a bit of disappointment as the other one although she was very good in her interview , the insider thought she looked way too simple and didnt create that much impact, this is still a beauty pageant and all the girls are primping up to max , this lady was way too simple. she is very beautiful, the closed door interview should have been the time to show the judges what she is capable of physically . i hope she makes it still, she is one of my favorites.the other european lady is one of the best faces of the competition yet comes off very shy and really timid. this is a problem because miss earth is expected to be an ambassadress and it entails alot of public speaking , so a lady with her personality will not be a good fit for miss earth.while everybody is talking about the shy stunner, her neighbour is actually the one who made a positive dent during the prejudging. she has been under the radar but is always very upbeat and positive. according to my insider ,she has the smoothest most beautiful skin of all the girls. makes you want to pinch and caress that lovely face and she is quite a talker too, speaks good english a rarity where she comes from.
another one from north america who is quietly climbing up the competition might be a strong contender for top 4, she has an angelic face and looks much better in person than in photos. other latinas are usually mentioned more than her but she impressed more the judges which is the most important thing. another latina who is really a complete package did just right to make the cut, she was not super outstanding but she is consistent from day 1 to prejudging which everyone appreciated. one interesting thing is she is the only lady who looks almost the same with and without make up, soft pretty features.
another super stunning latina might be in danger , the powers to be have noticed she is quite hesitant and very quiet. she keeps to herself and is not very assertive, but physically she is no doubt one of the best ones in 2016. show some drive and grit girl, you have what it takes.
yes, that latina that everyone wants to hate , well she is a great speaker and did well in the interview. very charming with the judges and knows how to play the game. im not sure if her interview will save her quite disappointing no make up scores though, let us see.
and last but not least, the most controversial girl of 2016 , she might clap....
i have new juicy tidbits to add , apparently this frontrunner from the americas made a splash as well in the prejudging. my insider even said , she looks better without make up,flawless, fresh and radiant. unfortunately she has a backstory, this girl is complain-factory, she constantly complains and moans about everything. i guess this is a huge culture shock for her , she was overwhelmed with the new things presented to her and the attention.but, she will still make top 16 because her no make up assessment score is very high as well as her interview. remember that shy stunner from europe that i mentioned , well what do you know one of the carousel bigwigs actually find her to be the most beautiful of all the candidates and that bigwig was part of the judging panel, but the team managers who give scores as well are in complete disagreement because they are the ones who deal with the girls first hand and they think her personality will not be a good fit for miss earth. let us see who triumphs in the end, the carousel bigwig or the team managers. the african delegation were excellent conversationalists, really impressive interviews from the ladies in this region.
this has been one of the most competitive , most endearing, most fun and most friendly miss earth girls ever. such a joy to see all of them enjoying and creating friendships. the judges really had a hard time becuase they all have so many outstanding qualities and there are only 16 spots. what an amazing batch, very proud of these girls. enjoy the pageant dearies, this is the most exciting one so far and the most organized with the best activities, no other pageant in history can surpass what miss earth 2016 offered in terms of unique ,memorable and fun experiences.
when you have a dream, no matter what the obstacles are , be it sabotage from a major company, even a court order or harrassment from so many entities , none can stop you , if that drive to achieve it is burning in your core. it took a whole village and a whole ot of determination, but rashi yadav is here , she made it to miss earth 2016.india will be a force to reckon with and rashi yadav will try to end the 5 year drought that has plagued india at miss earth.
it is so comforting and heartwarming to finally see rashi wearing the green INDIA sash at miss earth 2016. this girl is a ball of beauty, personality ,wit and charm, so she is a big ticket to the top 16 at this years miss earth. it has been a bumpy ride for her as well as her directors maithani pradeep and cheryl hansen, but i know that they will come out victorious and so fulfilled because their intentions are integral and honorable.

timing is always a catchy word, if it is not the right time it will not happen, but in the case of stephanie de zorzi 2016 is the perfect time for her to finally wear the coveted VENEZUELA sash at miss earth.in 2013 she won the miss venezuela title so she will be able to represent venezuela at miss earth 2014. but as fate would have it, several weeks before she was supposed to fly out to manila , that oppurtunity of a lifetime was snatched in a blink of an eye. miss venezuela organization and osmel sousa did not see her fit physically and mentally to contest the miss earth title and they were gunning for a back to back win. stephanie gained weight and was unable to lose it in the weeks she was trained at the gym, forcing osmel to send the very ready and super fierce maira alexandra rodriguez. now 2016 a new era of miss earth has been born in venezuela and stephanie was introduced and exploded like a volcano with trending topic buzz all over social media as the new miss venezuela earth 2016.

another woman who needs special mention in all these is miss earth 2013 alyz henrich. she took up the challenge without hesitation , so that her country will be represented in the pageant very close to her heart.alyz during her reign has become family to carousel productions and i know the miss earth brand is in its best interest with alyz managing it. she secured the franchise for three years, amazing .fashion designer prince julio cesar is her partner in this momentuous and historical shift in power of pageants in venezuela.thank you alyz , we bow down to you and we will always be here to support you all the way.
time is also the deciding factor why all these changes are happening in the miss earth franchises.this is the first time in a very long time that miss earth is held in october. usually it is held late november or early december. most of the franchises are not used to miss earth held early so these changes contributed to france and germany being absent and miss venezuela changing hands. miss venezuela oganization was given the chance to submit and fulfill the requirements. early 2016 they have confirmed they will send a candidate, but as pageant date is nearing they have not fully submitted all the requirements so carousel productions looked for another possible partner, and thanks to miss earth 2013 she committed immediately. right when the deal with alyz was sealed miss venezuela went and submitted requirements and payments , which was too late. so carousel productions had to return them and give them the news that a new organization has taken over. same story with france , they did not fulfill requirements until it was late, so next year franchise for france will be handled by a different organization.
the miss earth 2016 candidates are the luckiest beauty pageant contestants this year, they will be treated to a meaningful holiday featuring the most beautiful island destinations as well as the most exotic places all over the philippines. hailed as mother earth's best kept secret, the philippines is blessed with the most majestic paradise that has been hidden from international tourists. this year the gorgeous miss earth contestants will embark on a trip of a lifetime traversing the more than 7,000 islands of the philippines. here is the lovely host candidate , imelda bautista schweighart who will attempt the never before feat in pageantry of doing a triple back to back for the philippines. imelda will do the almost impossible and will try her best to make a historical record in pageantry.
the miss earth 2016 candidates will promote environmental protection as well as sustainable eco tourism as a tool to further development. they will travel to palawan, boracay island and cebu , recently cited as three of the top islands in the world by travellers worldwide. other places in the pipeline are sorsogon, guimaras island, ilocos region, benguet, mindoro,isabela, leyte , lanao provinces ,manila and davao! the ladies are divided into three groups and will travel separately into the chosen destination. however , all the candidates will spend one week in davao city where the most important swimsuit competition will be held. pearl farm davao will play host to the swimsuit competition and the ladies will also tour the sites of interest in davao city.miss earth 2015 angelia ong and owner lorraine schuck are in davao to seal the deal for this momentuous event.
the miss earth candiates are not only environmental warriors , as women they are also advocates for health , so they will be special guests of honor to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and treatment . a special PINK PARTY is organized with the 90 miss earth candidates as honored guests at the waterfront davao hotel on october 13.
miss earth activity is never cimplete without the important aspect of the pageant to help offset our carbon footprint. the miss earth 2016 is fully supported by the armed forces of the philippines in achieving the " 1 million trees campaign" by planting trees all over davao.
there will be three official residences in manila for 2016, diamond hotel, oakwood premiere and century park hotel, the ladies will be staying in these hotels divided into their groups.miss earth 2016 , the most anticipated and the most exciting big 4 pageant this year!
