in 2001 a new pageant was born, a pageant that would take on the reins of being the most relevant pageant in existence today and unbelievably grew by leaps and bounds in such a short time, the name MISS EARTH.and for its inaugural year they crowned one of the most beautiful nordic beauty that has graced the world of pageantry . catharina svensson made history by being the very first miss earth winner and also the only danish who has ever won a beauty title in the recognized big 4 pageants.there was no better  queen to embody what miss earth stands for , catharina is the epitome of beauty, elegance, class , poise , strength in character, intelligence and down to earth friendly personality.

after a very successful run as a beauty queen, catharina is now settled in sweden where she runs a hotel and a stable for horses with her husband who is a famous olympic medal winning dressage athlete jan brink from sweden.she was recently photographed by the national directors of miss earth denmark where they experienced first hand the mesmerizing beauty of catharina and most importantly how she captivates you with her sincere , humble and classy personality.
