ninoska vasquez is the winner of the very first miss earth venezuela created exclusively to choose the representative of venezuela to miss earth! it is under new directors namely miss earth 2013 alyz henrich and fashionista prince julio cesar. it was a megahit in august, top trending on social media for over six hours with 4 different hashtags related to miss earth venezuela 2017 and it destroyed the competition in tv ratings racking up record breaking numbers that shocked the whole pageant world and even beat the other older more established pageant. when alyz and prince julio cesar started this endeavour, everyone was doubting them, everyone looked down on them and the other pageant did everything to sabotage them. but in the end , miss earth venezuela is the ultimate winner and the biggest success story venezuela has seen in tv history.this is particularly a sweet victory because alyz and julio together with globovision was able to stage a very successful pageant in the middle of economy crappling sociopolitical instability.

now i know everyone is wating for the juicy tidbits, well here they are, 5 delegates still have not sent their flight details, so their participation is not yet confirmed. they are dominican republic, germany, slovak republic, ghana and crimea. crimea is waiting on her passport, she was just recently crowned and she did not have a passport when she was crowned, so waiting for that. dominican republic might be late again like last year, hope ingrid makes it, it has been her dream to be miss earth for years, it will be heartbreaking if she will not be able to compete.as early as now many franchises have already paid the franchise for 2018 , to secure it andnot let it slip into other peoples hands.last week it was confirmed that the format will be top 16,then top 8 and then top 4, well apparently they just finished a production meeting and there will be a new flow in how the show is going to be done. i asked if the top 16/8/4 format is still on, they said it is not sure. i asked again how it will be done and they dont want to reveal it this time.i am very curious how the show will be done , carousel knows the fans want a top 16/8 /4 , lets see how that takes into play how they finally decide what format to follow.

another exciting thing to look forward to in the next few weeks are the different places the ladies will be visiting. there are about 20 municipalities, cities ,provinces and islands that bid to host the miss earth 2017 candidates. this will be another full schedule and super fun itinerary for the ladies.they will be divided into several subgroups aside from the three groups to cover all the places that invited the girls. as usual miss earth will have the most fun , most interesting ,most exciting and most true to advocacy activities in the whole of pageantry.everything is fully sponsored and the activities are so varied and supported by lots of private and government agencies.that is what happens when an organization is humble and works very hard without putting other pageants down, good karma happens. one of those confirmed places is in cagayan de oro the stargate resort which the ladies will visit from october 19-21.

now for the most debated and most triggering issue that was first revealed here in this blog, the semifinalists being cut straight  into top 8 instead of the traditional top 16. well carousel has heard all your concerns and are now back to the brainstorming table with the creative team , on how to accomodate the top 16 semifinalists while still announcing the top 16 in each category.i have made some suggestions myself , so let us hope they find a compromise that will please everyone. i myself is advocating a top 16, it is just not the same , i feel something is missing without the top 16 semifinalists.#yestotop16 !!!!

the balkans are known for sexy, voluptuous ,sensual women and they delivered with the coronation of two smoking hot earth warriors the past week end. with the pageant running for months , the very beautiful kardashian sisters lookalike jelena " lela" karagic won the right to represent bosnia and herzegovina at miss earth 2017. this time , with the right training, i think bosnia is on track to claim back an elemental court at miss earth. lela has a face that is considered a blank canvass , she can look sweet and demure then a fierce seductress the next depending on her make up. she has lovely luscious hair and some really nice womanly curves, bosnia definitely chose a strong one this year.

russia lada akimova entralls us with her innocent youthful charm, i love her, she is not hyped by everyone but to me she has one of the most beautiful face at this years batch! i am completely fascinated with her watching this video.

poland dominika szymanska has that cool sophisticated woman aura who is confident and knows what she wants and that is to win miss earth 2017 crown.

sri lanka shyama dahayanaka drops an impactful eco video highlighting the natural resources of her country and her efforts as the queen of the most important pageant in sri lanka.

now for some news tidbits, guam will not be present at this years pageant due to emma mae sheedy being underage. emma and national director will attend the miss earth 2017 pageant finals and she will have the longest reign ever as she will be officially guam's representative for miss earth 2018. unfortunately christina chalk will not be able to make it to miss earth 2017, conflict with work schedule, let us see if sara pender can find a replacement in such a short notice. if not scotland will  be present for miss earth 2018 with renewed interest and new blood! germany is not from miss germany corporation, she is a queen from miss germany corporation but its an independent modelling agency that is sending her not miss germany corporation.for the new format how do you feel abut having a top 16 still but they will only compete in swimsuits. then cut to top 8 then they compete for hashtag questions and evening gowns, then cut to top 4 with final same question, this is my suggestion only and not from carousel productions. i feel though this is a good compromise, i hope for the best, we all love miss earth so let us continuously support it !!!

the excitement for miss earth 2017 is building up , as the batch 2017 for miss earth is starting to shape up it is proving to be a formidable one. so many strong , beautiful , dedicated women are going to be fighting for that most coveted crown and elements it will be a very difficult one to choose which ladies will make the royal court.

so now i will reveal some details about the upcoming miss earth pageant. the ladies will be divided among three groups and each group will have a designated hotel where they will be staying. just like last year there will be three official hotels for 2017, oakwood premiere , diamond hotel and century park hotel.the format will be quite similar to miss philippines earth 2017 pageant, since the three preliminary judging will streamed live for the first time in miss earth, due recognition will be done for the finals night as well. there will be three top 16 semifinalist announcements one for each category, one for intelligence and environmental knowledge , second for beauty of face and poise, third will be figure and form wearing a veil. each category will have a distinct segment  to highlight the achievement of each girl during the preliminaries. now the part that will break a lot miss earth fans heart, due to the time constraints of announcing three top 16 segments, for the first time in history the pageant will go straight to top 8.the top 8 scorers from the three preliminary segments plus the scores from the chaperones will be called as top 8 finalists.the top 8 will also be announced via two gaps , so the excitement build up will be nerve wracking ,there will be no more continental judging which is a great thing , then the top 8 will compete in swimsuits, evening gowns , hashtag questions. after they compete in three segments they will be narrowed down to 4 finalists and a final question will be asked, all four girls will be asked the same question then the winners are announced. i myself am shocked at this development, although i appreciate the fact that more girls will be recognized and all of them will appear on the show till its almost done, i still like the tradition of having a miss earth top 16 semifinalists, its like the most exciting part of the show because it cuts a large portion of the girls and it is what every pageant girl dreams of achieving and every pageant fans look forward to. this might still change, but as of presstime this will be the format of the miss earth 2017 pageant. the show will be 90 minutes , 120 minutes including all the commercial gaps, would it be asking a lot if they extend another 30 minutes to accomodate a top 16, i sure hope so! i am still hoping carousel productions will change their mind, please give it as a gift to us all miss earth fans to have a top 16 semifinalists.

this is really hard as 2017 will have one of the strongest miss earth batches in history, so many gorgeous girls who really want the title are competing in this years pageant. also a lot of national pageants are being established exclusively for miss earth , so the effort of the directors are definitley there. one of the girls to watch out for is andreia gibau , miss earth usa 2017 who was chosen in a glittery pageant in washington d.c in the presence of 3 elemental queens miss earth 2016 katherine espin, miss earth air 2016 michelle gomez and miss earth fire 2016 corrin stellakis. after 3 elemental titles in the last three years , andreia is poised to take the top title being one complete woman who is strong in all pageant departments.

puerto rico has missed the miss earth pageant for 2 years in a row, and with new directors it will come back in 2017 with karla aponte. crowned by katherine espin and michelle gomez, will the new directorship finally be able to penetrate the puerto rican market and establish the miss earth brand in puerto rico? we will see in the coming years.

sri lanka has chosen its earth warrior for 2017 via a grand royal event attended by the whos who in srilankan media industry and in the presence of miss earth water 2016 stephanie de zorzi from venezuela.it is the most prestigious pageant in sri lanka, also the most widely broadcast as it is a reality show that runs for several months and produced by derana tv . major sponsor this year is OFFMARKS , the winner of derana offmarks miss sri lanka earth will go to miss earth 2017.

another pageant recently concluded is the miss earth chile pageant, under the direction of hernan lucero, katherine espin miss earth 2016 was on hand to crown the winner and participate in the activities precoronation night. katherine was supposed to go to colombia to help michelle gomez crown her successor but the schedules were in conflict with the chile organizations invitations. katherine enjoyed the beautiful province of quiloota and discovered its hidden tourism gems waiting for the world to discover. katherine also bonded with the miss earth chile candidates as well as the organizers it was a great time and a great show. emerging as the winner is the very beautiful sofia manzur ,who to me was so radiant that night she glowed onstage. well deserved victory and a great contender for the top 16 spots.let us see how hernan and his team transform sofia into a very competitive delegate, she has huge potentials.

2017 saw the launch of several new pageants organized exclusively for miss earth, solidifying the strength and relevance of this pageant all over the world. one of which is miss brasil earth helmed by the most beautiful couple in pageantry leticia silva and ricardo monteverde. finally afer 2 miss earth crowns and lots of placements brazil has found the right people that can take the miss earth brand to new heights. i truly believe in the capability of leticia and ricardo, because they are very dedicated and they have genuine love for miss earth. the pageant was successfully held and the new earth warrior from brazil is a blonde glamazon bruna vizintins.standing almost 6 feet tall bruna is not only stunning she is also a humble dedicated person who is ready to work and fight for the miss earth 2017 crown.
