now for some news tidbits about the miss earth 2016 winners, only in miss earth where the court also gets to travel and work throughout the year. katherine espin will fly to australia from june 26-july 3 for a personal commitment, july 4 to july 13 katherine will fly to reunion island and mauritius together with miss earth air 2016 michelle gomez of colombia. they will do environmental acitivites as well as crown the 2017 representatives of reunion island and mauritius to miss earth 2017.after the trip in reunion island and mauritius michelle gomez will fly back straight to manila and will do environmental commitments together with katherine espin.

august 4 - 12 katherine will then travel to the USA and puerto rico also with her are miss earth air 2016 michelle gomez and miss earth fire corrin stellakis.

while katherine, michelle and corrin are in the usa and puerto rico, miss earth water 2016 stephanie de zorzi will travel to sri lanka to crown miss earth sri lanka 2017 from august 10 - 14. how amazing is this , all four elemental queens will be jetsetting all over the world promoting the miss earth advocacy. this only happens in miss earth.

now with the ongoing controversy on the prejudging round of miss earth philippines figure and form portion with the ladies wearing a veil. its creating so much buzz people are continuously talking about it, imagine what happens with miss earth when foregn media starts to cover this, what a brilliant idea! miss earth again leads in being unique, innovative and breakthrough in pageants. thats why miss earth is so successful , because it dares to be different and continues to find new avenues to make the pageant very exciting and relevant.one thing is for sure , miss earth is an original, always imitated , always being followed both by its lovers and haters.

only miss earth pageant chooses its queen based on her overall being as well as performance. on this segment figure and form are being judged, that is why the face is covered with a veil and hair is pulled up into a ponytail so focus will be solely on the candidates figure and form. in the past when the figure and form were judged together , fans have complained why somebody whose body is not fit made it to the top 16 when there were other fitter girls , well because in the past the judges see the face and most often the judges get distracted at how beautiful the face is and forget her body is not the fittest, so for more fairness the girls will be judged accordingly based on their strengths and the most complete woman will be chosen as there will be separate judging for beauty of face, intelligence, and the chaperones will give scores based on the candidates attitude, work ethics and motivation. for sure a multifaceted, beautiful , intelligent, committed, hard working, sincere and charming woman will win miss earth title.

"  In the pre-judging portion of figure and form, (which is separate from the swimsuit competition, by the way), the transparent veil served a double purpose -- first, to place emphasis on the figure and form of the candidate, which was the criteria of focus for that specific portion, and second to introduce the girls with dramatic flair since it was the first in our series of prejudging. Our next pre judging will focus on Poise and Beauty of Face, where the judges will get to see and judge the candidate’s personality. On the week of the finals will be the pre judging of Intelligence and determination were the confidence of the Ladies will be Judged
After 26 years of doing pageants, we have noticed that it is difficult to separate inherent biases while judging. In the past 10 years or more, we have noticed the ladies work so hard on each of the criteria needed for the competition. Miss Philippines Earth decided to make this move to promote strict impartiality during our prejudging and for the first time allowed the event to be seen by the public. Lastly, we honestly do not believe that the girls were objectified or that they felt objectified, remember we are working with millennials. They speak their mind and will not way allow themselves to be put on the negative side. If you paid attention to the entire show and listened to the Ladies promoting their fitness and health regimen, which is part of our environmental campaign, then maybe you would have seen it in a different way. Most often than not when you get out of the norm, there would always be questions and negativity. This is expected.  "


here are the ladies after the figure and form prejudging where for the first time ever it was livestreamed and fans were first hand witness of the controversial segment together with fitness experts as judges.

now for some blind items, there are two franchises who are about to lose their franchises if remedies are not being done to make up for their shortcomings. both countries are from europe , the first country has chosen its representative for 2017 but this year carousel productions has finally stomped its feet after years of giving them a chance to prove themselves. they have continuously violated the contract they have signed with carousel productions by not  announcing and crowning a miss earth winner during coronation night. this year is most crucial as they even had a meeting with carousel executives to possibly host the miss earth pageant in their country and promised to crown , sash and announce a miss earth winner during the pageant night. well the pageant night happened and what they promised did not materialize, carousel will find a replacement and if they cannot find one would rather have no candidate from this country. which i think is a just and right decision,many countries organize a pageant exclusive for miss earth and promote it endlessly and this pageant cannot even give the respect due miss earth. the second european franchise on the verge of losing the contract has been with miss earth for a long time, unfortunately the director has not really done well in growing the miss earth brand in this part of the world, considering the psyche of this country and its people, miss earth is the perfect pageant that has the potential of growing big. carousel productions is not satisfied with the way the brand is being handled in this country and is actively looking for a new franchise holder. as far as i know there are lots of parties interested to take over, mostly previous miss earth queens , but the current one does not want to let go of the franchise and keeps paying for it.let us see what happens this year, i for one would prefer for it to go to a more dynamic and modern hands , this will allow miss earth to reach its potential in this european bigwig.

the modern day heroine, the kind of woman legends are made of, not just in movies but in real life. miss earth 2013 alyz henrich literally saved venezuela from total failure in the major pageants last year, venezuela failed in all the other major pageant except in miss earth where stephanie de zorzi won the miss earth water crown. 

aside from organizing the miss earth venezuela competition , she keeps herself busy with modelling assignments all over the world. she recently was the star of the music video of the popular latin group "gente de zona" for their song "si no vuelves"  with actor raul bravo as her leading man. check out our gorgeous queen displaying her sensuality and sultry venezuelan aura in this sexy video where we also get a glimpse of her exceptional dance talent.

alyz without hesitation accepted the almost impossible task of creating a separate pageant for miss earth especially with the political situation in venezuela. but this lady with her grit , determination and love for the pageant that has become family for her, took on the momentuous task and faced goliath like obstacles. with the help of her business partner prince julio cesar and some of the best venezuelan professionals in make up, fitness, design, media has produced an elemental queen.they are on their way to creating one of the most exciting and most awaited national pageant of 2017.

when alyz took over the miss earth franchise, the whole venezuelan pageantry was shaken and miss earth venezuela was the most talked about topic eclipsing even the previous franchise holders in terms of buzz. i am so proud of alyz, of all the queens miss earth has produced , i never thought she would be the one who will have miss earth closest to her heart. let us celebrate the fact we have alyz as one of our queens and continue to support her in the upcoming years as it is a diffcult road ahead. but a road that she clearly will tackle with ease and sophistication like a true miss earth queen! mabuhay alyz, mahal kita!!!

miss earth once again makes a breakthrough for 2017 , an innovation that has never been done in pageantry ever. for the first time ever the prejudging of the miss philippines earth pageant will be livestreamed via facebook , and if it will be well received it will carry on for miss earth 2017 as well. meaning all the pageant fans around the world will have a first hand look at what happens behind closed doors , miss earth will be 100 percent transparent and everyone will see how fair the judging is. miss earth is the only pageant where the girls  are judged based only on performance not on politics,not on sponsorships, not money, not influence, not under the table dealings. miss earth from the very start has been the most honest, most integral pageant in existence, that is why it is very successful because because it is a pageant based on hardwork,honesty, true advocacy and and honest to goodness dedication.

in previous years , pageant fans have always wondered how the judging is done, well for 2017 everyone will witness live what happens and everyone will see why one girl made it and why another one did not. there will be three categories factored in for prejudging:1. beauty of face and poise 2. beauty of figure 3. intelligence. the whole prejudging process will take three days , each day is dedicated for each category. unlike before when the prejudging happens only in one day , so there is a rush and the judges have limited time to evaluate each girl and the candidates also have limited time to answer the question. now with this new concept each judge will have ample time to really get to know each contestant and evaluate their capabilities . this is also a chance for the candidates to really explain and expound on their answers in the interview round as they have more time in their hands as one whole day is dedicated just for the intelligence and knowledge round.

each day for every category there will be a different set of judges to evaluate each candidate. this is a hallmark change because the real experts on each category will have their say and the ladies are judged in the best way possible because the one giving them scores are knowledgeable on that specific area of beauty pageant criteria. for beauty of face and poise the judges will be make up experts,personality development empresarios, casting directors for movies ,commercials , photographers ,magazine editors. for beauty of figure it will be leaders in health and fitness, modelling trainors , top fashion bloggers, models , aesthetic medical practioners,nutrition gurus . for the intelligence round it will be environmentalists, successful business executives, ambassadors, politicians , social entrepreneurs , society columnists, youth leaders. the best most qualified judges will be able to gauge who the best girl for the job is , we will have the most dynamic, most beautiful and mos multifaceted winner this year.

miss earth japan 2016 ami hachiya together with the national director of japan has been travelling all over japan conducting regional searches. miss earth is now the biggest pageant in japan with each region conducting a pageant preliminary that will choose a winner and compete for miss earth japan 2017 title.

recently crowned miss earth northern ireland 2017 maire lynch has started her miss earth activities with a visit to the major sponsor at this years pageant, the richmond shopping center.

the beauty of face round the ladies will wear no make up and sit infront of  the judges so they will see their beauty in its most natural state. for beauty of figure the ladies will wear a black netted veil to cover the face with hair ina ponytail and wear the official swimsuits infront of the judges so they will solely be scored  on their figure and fitness and not be distracted by their face. so the lady with the best form and proportions will really be scored accordingly irregardless of her face. of course the intelligence round is the part where the judges will ask questions to see who is knowledgeable and smart ,this is the part also where the ladies will present their environmental projects.
