this post i would like to honor and pay homage to a lady who turned out to be one of the best earth warrior the miss earth pageant ever had in its history. she is katrina kendall winner of miss earth england 2015 and ever since her victory up until now is tirelessly working on her environmental advocacies all over the world. she goes to prove that the true miss earth queens work ,does not end when the pageant ends but rather is a continuous process to influence everyone as a role model in the community in our everyday lives. katrina exemplifies commitment, dedication and genuine hard work to make a difference!
katrina is beautiful mix of east and west , born to an english father and a filipina mother, she has travelled extensively all over the world and in the philippines helping out in making environmental protection a topic to be learned , discussed and worked on.here are some of her recent works and endeavours: planting trees in the province of antique , in association with the department of environmental and natural resources of the philippines.
environmental school tours to children to give much needed school supplies and clothes as well as teaching them about the importance of taking good care of the environment. katrina never hesitates to share her abundant knowledge as well as resources to give back to the less fortunate communities.
katrina promoting eco tourism in the philippines , france , italy! wherever she is the world ,she advocates for sustainable tourism so that the future generations can still enjoy the beauty of nature in the centuries to come.
even though she already is very knowledgeable, she continues to attend forums to further enrich her learnings and experiences so she can share more and be an example to everyone. here she attends earth day forum at the university of cambridge in england.
katrina visited mt. kitanglad range natural park which is the ancestral home to three indigenous groups known as talaandigs, higaonons and bukidnons.
her relentless work with indigenous people , making know to the world their beautiful cultures and traditions she was officially given title of official ambassador of the indigenous people on this part of mindanao in the philippines.
these are just few of her work, this brave woman who i personally doubted at first , has proven herself to be the worthiest winner and definitely one of the greatest ambassadors the miss earth pageant has produced. yes, katrina kendall, you have proven me and all the naysayers wrong, you deserved your victory and you have showed us what a true miss earth winner is, you will always be miss earth england 2015 today and forever and we the miss earth fans and family are very proud of you.
let us reminisce the miss earth 2016 enjoying the stunning pearl farm beach resort in davao! miss earth 2016 was the most fun pageant to follow, it was awesome to see the ladies enjoying the culture of the philippines first hand and also discovering mother nature most beautiful creations found in the philippines. no doubt miss earth is unbeatable when it comes to prepageant activities, so much fun, so much variety and yet so meaninglful to its advocacy!
now let us discuss some miss earth news amidst the backdrop of the stunning pearl farm resort in davao perfectly complemented by the exquisite beauty of miss earth 2016 ladies.with regards to the hosting of miss earth 2017, several countries have expressed interest to hold the pageant in their country. mexico has expressed interest but nothing concrete has really been discussed , so mexico definitely is out of the question. next is hungary, carousel executives were actually in hungary last march and had a meeting with the company desiring to host miss earth in hungary.carousel executives deemed them not ready to host the pageant, carousel has been very careful after what happened in austria in 2015. this is my take on it and not carousel, quite happy hungary did not get the approval, they have not even established the miss earth title in their pageant , then they bid to host? i dont trust the hungarian organizers, i dont feel they have the best interest of miss earth in their agenda. an asian country is interested but let us wait, for me it will be best to hold it in the philippines, the most fun and best pageant of 2016 was miss earth 2016, so the best host is definitely the philippines. all other pageants want the philippines to host their pageant , so no question the best choice is really the philippines.
for 2018 there are three countries who expressed to host, they are USA ,FINLAND AND HUNGARY. i hope hungary will never get it, miss suomi has been very impressed at how the miss earth 2016 pageant was conducted they will send their very first candidate to miss earth in 2017 and possibly host 2018. USA has continuously grown , hopefully they will grow more and be ready in the next few years to host miss earth in american hemisphere for the first time.
katherine espin and angelia ong are currently in the usa , on june 13 katherine will come back to manila, regarding france a separate commitee was established to focus on miss earth and they are from the miss prestige france group.
